The Most Disrespectful Thing You Can Do To Yourself
Everything you need to succeed is within you.

I could list endless ways a person can disrespect themselves; so many until my dark face turns blue. Among all the things I could list, none is more disrespectful than thinking you are not worthy of something. That is a level of disrespect I find hard to fathom.
When you believe that you are unworthy of something, you relegate yourself to being a lesser person than those who you think are worthy of it. What do they have that you don’t?
You have a brain, don’t you?
You could list many things that you think they have that you don’t but the only things I would recognise as lacking in you are self-respect and courage.
Nothing is above anyone. No one is above anyone.
When you make the mistake of forgetting these core tenets of life, you become a second-class human being. You reduce your ceiling in life across all spheres; intellect; physical strength; and mental strength. You segregate yourself from the world of the bold. You begin to generate endless excuses about why you cannot do things; you limit your achievements in life to the bland and uninspiring. Why people would curse themselves in this way is beyond me.
Self-doubt is something you will deal with; no doubts about that. There will be times when you don’t work hard enough to achieve something. But to mistake laziness or a lack of passion for incapacity is despicable.
Many people who achieved great things have said countless times that the only reason they were successful was because they believed they could.

“It always seems impossible until it is done.” - Nelson Mandela
Yet we spend countless hours searching for some magical motivational drug that will spur us to success. Everything you need to succeed is within you. Whether you choose to use it or not is up to you.

"Nothing is above anyone. No one is above anyone."
Very important encouragement, Harun. I keep reading essays where people say they don't think they are good enough, and then I ask, "Who told you this; what do they have that makes you believe them?"
You are worthy of what you work to obtain. If you don't, you'll forever believe you cannot, and then your fears will become realities that only cement your limitations.
Beautifully expressed, Harun. Thank you for the reminder 🙏
